Here are ten most loved and favorite places to eat in Port A according to you, our discerning guests, and these are not in any particular order:
Fins Grill and Icehouse
Due to its proximity to the tour boats that leave from the Port Aransas Marina, Fins is a favorite waterfront hangout. It’s a great place to grab a burger and a beer before setting out on a sunset or mid-afternoon cruise. When it comes to burgers, our favorite is the Mushroom & Swiss. It’s a hefty size, dressed with caramelized mushrooms, a King’s Hawaiian bun, and plenty of melty cheese. They also have a wide variety of tropical drinks and have a small selection of popular beers. Best time to get a table is when the tour boats are out to sea.

Crazy Cajun
Louisiana Cajun culture has a home in Texas. While you’ll find the city of Houston has more restaurants that cater to this unique style of cooking, Port Aransas and Corpus Christi have a few places that do it well—and the Crazy Cajun is one of those places. Enjoy shrimp, crab, sausage, and of course crawfish (when in season). You can order these items individually or get them all together when you order the Hungry Cajun. You’ll also find jambalaya, red beans and rice, shrimp creole, and other traditional Louisiana fare. You truly can’t go wrong when you dine at the Crazy Cajun.

Seafood & Spaghetti Works
There’s something for everyone here, with a diverse menu that includes steak, chicken, seafood, and traditional Italian dishes. Even the pickiest of eaters are sure to find something they like. They also have a nice selection of beers and tropical drinks which are the perfect complement to any meal. Try the Cat 5 Cosmo or the Sea Breeze and get a taste of the Caribbean. They’re open every day except for Tuesday, so plan accordingly.

Castaways
The best part about fishing is enjoying your catch at dinner. But if you’re vacationing in Port A, you may not have a kitchen with the tools to do it right. That’s where Castaways can help. They’ll prepare your catch, cook it, and serve it to your family, all for a fixed price per pound. Castaways also has seafood dishes, burgers, salads, and mouthwatering appetizers in case you weren’t fishing on the day you visit. Located in the heart of Port Aransas, Castaways is a quick ride from the beach. It’s also closed on Tuesday, so make sure you plan accordingly.

Kody’s
With mini-golf and excellent food, Kody’s is fun for the “hole” family! Enjoy a wide selection of seafood dishes, or savor the choice steaks on the menu. Either way, you can’t go wrong. If you’re feeling especially adventurous, every Wednesday, Kody’s serves prime rib! This delicacy can be difficult to find in Port A, so you don’t want to miss it. The restaurant itself is set against the backdrop of a true Texas saloon, which is part of the vibe that makes Port Aransas special. Kody’s is busiest after 6 PM, with the slowest hours being between 3 PM and 6 PM. Stop by for a bite to eat and treat the kiddos to some family fun.

Stingray’s
Stingray’s is a famous Port A hotspot, home to the savory Maker’s Mark Burger that so many of our Facebook friends raved about. Hot and juicy with just a hint of smoke, the Maker’s Mark Burger is one to write home about. They serve mostly sandwiches but have a fairly diverse offering. Choose from a selection that includes fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, BLTs, Ahi Tuna sandwiches—and so much more! It’s a great place to grab lunch before you head out to the beach, and it’s located right in the heart of Port Aransas.

Virginia’s on the Bay
Situated right on the end of the Port Aransas marina, Virginia’s is one of the most visible restaurants in Port Aransas. From its tables, you can watch the tour boats come into port. The view is especially striking at sunset. Virginia’s serves mostly seafood, but you’ll also find salads and burgers. While the seafood dishes are indeed exceptional here, you may find the Island Burger to be the best value. Grilled to your liking with a hefty slice of cheese, it won’t disappoint. Because it’s so close to the beach it’s usually packed, but they do serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in the parking lot to guests waiting for a table.

Grumbles Seafood
Grumbles is a newcomer to the Port Aransas restaurant scene, having just opened in 2021. It’s right next to Virginia’s on the Bay, and the line for dinner is usually out the door. Choose from signature handhelds or crispy fried platters. Grumbles prides itself on only serving the best seafood from the Gulf, and if you make a visit they won’t disappoint.
